A Lover or A friend

There are many people we’re going to contact, to know about and to get along with who may be the final good friends, cooperators, competitors, enemies and may also be the romantic lover. What they’ll be of us all depends on what we want to get from them.

When it comes to college students, what’ll happen? I don’t know. But as it is complained ,among all the disgusting problems in campus , such as how to delegate time to study and part-time job reasonably , how to get on well with classmates ,roommates , and how to interact with opposite sexual friends , existing in college students , making a very , very good opposite sexual friend a pretty lover or a permanent friend is the most difficult and cruel one .

As is known, colleges are quite different from middle schools and high schools, where boys and girls are almost strangers to each other. But in universities they become vivid (活泼的) and open minded. They try to talk and know about opposite sexual friends more. Their conversations are no longer just about questions in books; instead they are more about personal interests, habits, dreams, and goals and so on. During the process of knowing about each other, there grows some good impression(好感) between them. With the happy time going on, there is almost nothing they can’t talk to each other and sometimes they may also act like a spoiled child(撒娇). No one can deny they are good friends.

But for us, who are young and energetic and have survived years of hard studying, love is one of the most sensitive words. Some older guys in the same college will tell us that if we don’t experience the love once or more, we’ll be sorry to the educational system of China.

So most of the college students, especially the freshman（大一新生）, begin to select one of the former best opposite sexual friends as a lover. The lucky one may come from the same group, the same class, the same association and the same school. Then the former good friends are on longer just an ordinary friend. He or She is a pretty lover now and maybe tomorrow. This is must common occasion among all the lovers. Now, somebody may ask me whether it is right and reasonable to choose this result. Actually, there’s no any definite principle. We must base it on the particular position. If the flower of love really appears, without any doubt, you should take good care of it. If not, please calm down.

I often hear they explain that they are both the best choices to the opposite side; that they know about each other quite well and so on. Yeah, they may be telling the truth: boys are cool, girls are beautiful, and they are all fashionable. If they don’t get together, will there be any better choices?

Is it right? Are they sure? Maybe you can pay some attention to my opinion-----a friend is better then a lover in campus.

Why? It is really difficult to say. Maybe I can exemplify some reasons for the lovers. To begin with, there is no ban of loving in The Student Principle any more. In other words, it is “legal” to love, which is very significant for the lovers. Second, we are all adults and all have the impulse to love and be loved. So someone may pay more attention to opposite sexual friends, even strangers if possible.

With the above to points’ supporting, sixty percent of us have already started to find one waiting them somewhere.

Unfortunately, the claimed lovers are so open minded that they often express the depth of their love in public, for example, embracing and kissing, which is a large challenge for the rest forty of us. In addition, fewer classes, less assignments and fewer exams make college students void(空虚的). All these concerned above urge us college students to exchange a friend for a lover.

Reading to here, someone may doubt whether there is any advantage to keep a permanent opposite friends. The answer is “yes”!

One of the simplest one is that no one can and dare add an “s” to the “lover”. On the contrary, everyone can keep countless opposite sexual friends if you want. For another, the former pure friendships on longer exist between you two and the simple thoughts of you two get together as friends for the same interests ,habits and dreams has melt away.

As we all know, the lovers may often try to avoid some unhappy topics where the friends may emphasize again and again on purpose for fine, only to improve and strengthen their relationships, which is impossible for the lovers. What’s more, friends needn’t keep a certain distance away from opposite sexual friends. The most important reason is that a real good friend can give you what you can get from a lover perfectly! There is also s practical reason known to all college students. The lovers may always complain about each other’s bad habits, uncomfortable behaviors, ugly dialect, and other little problems all the time together, while friends may value the valuable time without any compliments by living with the opposite side’s shortages.

As for some lovers, the first two days of a week are spent to complain about each other; the following two days are took to explain the misunderstandings; the third two days will be spared for a walk or other romantic things out of classroom to experience their love; the last day was usually spent in classroom finishing assignments left last week.

Although there are maybe only two or three days to spend together, they can take them to read books or do their assignments in classroom or spend them out of classroom walking, singing or sharing their happiness, after which their relationships gets stronger and college lives become more meaningful.

Ok, so much has been said, I don’t know whether it is useful to you. I think it’s necessary to emphasize my opinion again now. I never doubt the decision of making a good opposite sexual friend a lover. What I want to say is that please make a advisable choice for your and his/her whole life when you are confronted with the crossing road.
